Former NFL quarterback makes major statement about the Ohio State Buckeyes, and it is hard to argue
A major shoutout for the Buckeyes and he’s spot on with it.
Emeka Egbuka was the latest wide receiver to come through Ohio State and leave as a first-round pick to the NFL thanks to the development by offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach Brian Hartline. Marvin Harrison Jr., Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Chris Olave, and Garrett Wilson were some of the other recent ones to hear their name called. Ohio State is putting out wide receivers like no one else right now and it isn’t all that close.
Egbuka already has three touchdowns for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers through his first two NFL games and that is tied for first in the league. The former Ohio State star has hit the ground running and recently earned the Buckeyes a shootout from a former NFL quarterback.
Former 15-year NFL veteran makes major statement about the Buckeyes
Brian Hoyer has seen plenty of wide receiver talent through his 15 seasons in the NFL, so he surely knows what a good wideout looks like. The Buckeyes are not only putting them in the NFL, but the former Ohio State wideouts are doing well when they get there. Egbuka has 96 yards on eight catches through his first two games and Smith-Njigba has really shown up with 227 receiving yards already in two games played.
There is no sign of the pumping out of wide receivers slowing down in Columbus. Carnell Tate is next up to get drafted next April if he decides to enter and the best of them all may be Jeremiah Smith, who isn’t going to be eligible until 2027. Hartline is doing special things with the position in Columbus and with the way they recruit, it should keep on happening
