Former Ohio State five-star recruit Quincy Porter expected to land with another major program via the transfer portal
An interesting move is expected to take place for the former Buckeye in the portal.
The Ohio State Buckeyes have had no downtime since their season ended in the Cotton Bowl against Miami.
Ohio State has been maneuvering the transfer portal since it opened last Friday. The Buckeyes have lost over 25 players to the portal — and they’ve added several as well. Ohio State’s biggest addition so far is former Wisconsin LB Christian Alliegro.
A couple of former OSU players have already found homes, and Ohio State’s biggest departure is nearing finding a home.
Former Buckeye Quincy Porter predicted to sign with Notre Dame
Quincy Porter was the top wide receiver commitment for the Buckeyes in 2025 as a former five-star. As a true freshman, Porter caught four passes for 59 receiving yards in four games played. Now, On3 is predicting that Porter will sign with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
Update: Porter has landed with Notre Dame.
247 Sports has Porter ranked as the No. 9 wideout in the transfer portal and the No. 39 player overall. As a high school recruit, Porter was ranked as the No. 4 wide receiver and No. 31 player nationally.
The 6-foot-4 wide receiver was still going to face an uphill battle to play for the Buckeyes in 2025. Jeremiah Smith and incoming freshman Chris Henry Jr. are expected to man the boundary, and Brandon Inniss returns to the slot. Ohio State added former UTSA WR Devin McCuin as another slot option, bringing speed to the offense via the portal.
Porter will now go up against the team that Ohio State defeated in the national championship a year ago. Not a totally unexpected landing spot for the former Buckeye, as Porter was recruited by Notre Dame out of high school.
