This NFL offseason is guaranteed to bring a flurry of shocking moves we never saw coming. Trades come out of nowhere as front offices look to get ahead of contract negotiations and stalemates and squeeze as much value as they can in deals.

According to one NFL expert, one former Ohio State star could be on the move this offseason if he doesn't cash in. Buckeyes legend and former All-American Garrett Wilson will be looking to land a deal worth at least $30 million as his rookie contract comes to an end after 2025, and the New York Jets may be unwilling to give that to him.

The 33rd Team had this to say about Wilson's chances of being moved.

Trading Garrett Wilson would be a mistake for the New York Jets unless they land a star quarterback. There was speculation the Jets could move Wilson after his displeasure about Aaron Rodgers' presence came out, but the aged quarterback has been informed he's done with the franchise. However, the Jets should still look into trading their best offensive player for one scenario.

The only trade the Jets should consider is part of a two-move plan. Moving the 24-year-old, who will soon want a massive contract extension worth more than $30 million per year, to another team drafting in the top-10 of the 2025 NFL Draft would give the Jets a tremendous package of picks. With the Jets dangling two top-10 selections, Tennessee or Cleveland might be willing to trade down for those picks.

That'd be a high cost for the Jets, but it would be worthwhile if either Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders proved to be the savior in New York.

Finding a team in the top 10 that should trade its top pick for Wilson is more difficult, given they'd have to extend him almost immediately. As much as New England, Jacksonville, Las Vegas, Carolina, and New Orleans need a playmaker, it's abnormal for a deal like that to happen.

Wilson was an incredible playmaker for the Buckeyes and has been excellent with the Jets despite the franchise being a constant mess. He made first-team All-American in 2021 when he caught 70 passes for 1,054 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Wilson and Chris Olave became the first set of Ohio State receivers to both be named first-team All-American in the same season.

Since joining the Jets, Wilson has totaled 279 receptions with 3,249 yards and 14 touchdowns. Turning 25 this summer, he's certainly in line to score a huge deal. Will that be with the Jets or will it come from another franchise?
