Amir Riep hasn’t played for Ohio State since 2019 and flash forward to 2024 and he’s now embarking on an NFL career.

Riep was dismissed from the team in early 2020 after being arrested by the Columbus Police Department on charges of rape and kidnapping. Flash forward to 2023, charges were dismissed against Riep and he resumed his football career.

The former Buckeye was recently flown out by the San Francisco 49ers for a workout. Riep played at Ohio State from 2017 to 2019 and appeared in 23 games. The defensive back made 32 tackles and three interceptions during his time with Ohio State.

Riep worked out with Ohio State draft prospects in Columbus last week at their Pro Day to help himself get in front of NFL talent evaluators. Following charges being dismissed against Riep, he played at Lincoln University in 2023 and was impressive with 87 tackles, five sacks, and four forced fumbles.

While he’s older than most players in the draft, Riep is getting a chance at something that didn’t seem real just a year ago. He isn’t likely to be drafted, but Riep could be an undrafted free agent to watch for.
