Former Ohio State running back Miyan Williams has found a new football home in the Canadian Football League. The team's starting and leading rusher in 2022 signed with the Toronto Argonauts for the 2025 season, he announced on X.

Originating from Cincinnati, Ohio, Williams was regarded as a three-star recruit from Winton Woods High School. Although he wasn't as prominently ranked as some of the other recruits in Ohio State's classes, he quickly proved his toughness, vision, and playmaking abilities at the collegiate level.

His first standout moment came during the 2021 season when he gained significant playing time in Ohio State's competitive backfield. Williams displayed a powerful running style, blending strength with unexpected agility for his size.

As he shared carries with star running back TreVeyon Henderson, he emerged as a dependable option, especially in short-yardage situations and crucial late-game moments, where his physical play was instrumental in wearing down opposing defenses.

In the 2022 season, Williams elevated his performance, rising to the occasion during critical moments when the team required his contributions. A memorable highlight was his game against Rutgers, where he equaled Ohio State's record for the most rushing touchdowns in a single game with five.

Williams had 508 yards and three touchdowns in 2021, then 128 carries for 825 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2022. Unfortunately, lower body injuries cut his 2023 short, and he finished six games with only 49 carries for 158 yards and three touchdowns.

He went undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft despite having late-round grades after his 2022 season. He had one more year of eligibility, but opted to test NFL waters instead of transferring elsewhere. He failed to land anywhere, making his comeback a triumphant story for now.
