There are some folks down in the SEC that aren't being shy about their disdain for the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Georgia Bulldogs offensive lineman Tate Ratledge is one of those folks.
Ratledge, who is expected to be an early to mid round selection in the 2025 NFL Draft, made it clear this week that he "hates" the Buckeyes and he wasn't happy to see Ohio State win it all this past season.
"I can express this now that I'm not with Georgia football, I hate Ohio State with everything in me," said Ratledge on the Mullets on the Mic podcast. "I hate them. I always have and I always will hate Ohio State…..just [my] family has always hated them. So I was kind of [brought] up to hate them. Just never liked them. The fans are cocky. Like with [the] The Ohio State University bulls–t, cut that out, no one cares. Ohio State is the last team I wanted to see win (the national championship)."
Ratledge, who won two national championships with the Bulldogs, is 1-0 in his career against Ohio State (Georgia beat the Buckeyes in the 2022 College Football Playoff semifinals), so he's earned the right to talk some trash.
At the same time, however, Ohio State got the job done in 2024/25 while the Bulldogs were eliminated in the quarterfinals of the College Football Playoff via a loss to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
But hey, trash talk and rivalries are part of what makes college football so compelling on a weekly basis. I love that Ratledge feels strongly about Ohio State. It's just too bad we won't get to see him go up against the Buckeyes ever again in his career.
