Jeremiah Smith dropped a 4-word message after Ohio State beat Rutgers that will have Buckeye Nation wondering
Smith didn’t play against Rutgers and Michigan is up next for the Buckeyes.
The Ohio State Buckeyes moved to 11-0 with a 42-9 win over Rutgers on Saturday afternoon in Columbus. Now, the most important game of the regular season awaits.
Ohio State may be unbeaten, but it hasn’t accomplished anything yet. Beating Michigan is a hill the Buckeyes haven’t climbed in their last four tries, and it remains one of their top goals every season. Ohio State is a two-score favorite heading into next weekend’s road game against Michigan, but there’s concern around the availability of their two star playmakers.
Jeremiah Smith drops X post after the Rutgers game that is catching attention
“God is in charge”.
Ohio State didn’t have Smith or Carnell Tate in the win over the Scarlet Knights. It was Smith’s first missed game as he continues to deal with a nagging injury. Tate missed his third straight contest due to what was initially described as tightness he felt before the Purdue game. With both receivers sidelined, Ohio State featured TE Max Klare as its top weapon against Rutgers — he posted seven catches for 110 yards and a touchdown.
A trip to Michigan without Smith or Tate would be a significant concern for the Buckeyes. No Ohio State wideout had more than David Adolph’s 23 receiving yards against Rutgers, and he has only three catches this season. All attention over the next week will be on the status of the Buckeyes’ two offensive stars heading into The Game.
Regardless, Ohio State will look to continue running the ball effectively behind freshman RB Bo Jackson, who has enjoyed a breakout season in Columbus.
