Ohio State offensive coordinator Chip Kelly is headed back to the NFL. According to reports, he's headed to the Las Vegas Raiders, leaving the Buckeyes without an offensive coordinator for the time being.

The Buckeyes' top wide receiver posted a reaction to the news on social media. Smith's clearly a bit sad about losing his unit's coordinator.

The news comes shortly after some other staff changes for the Buckeyes, too.
Justin Frye recently got hired by the Arizona Cardinals – to be their offensive line coach. Defensive coordinator Jim Knowles also left, joining the rival Penn State Nittany Lions.
As for Smith, he is certainly upset to see Kelly goes, as he was one of the most productive and dynamic receivers in all of college football this past season. That being said, I would not expect his numbers or impact to decrease, regardless of the play-caller in Columbus.
There were definitely transfer portal rumors and even reported "offers" for both Smith and Carnell Tate right after the National Championship win concluded for Ohio State.
They both have remained locked in with the Buckeyes since those discussions on social media.
Smith is one of the best wide receiver prospects in college football over the past decade, and he is still incredibly young. Hopefully, he will remain confident in Ryan Day's ability to grab a new, impressive OC for his staff.
