It’s been a wild couple of days for the Ohio State Buckeyes and their chase to retain one of their own players from the transfer portal

Ohio State has had an exodus at the wide receiver position outside of Jeremiah Smith and Brandon Inniss. Quincy Porter left the program and committed to Notre Dame. Mylan Graham was another wideout who entered the transfer portal — but Ohio State had been trying to retain him

Those efforts did not work in the end.

Mylan Graham is following Quincy Porter to Notre Dame

Graham has committed to Notre Dame as of Tuesday evening, giving the Fighting Irish two former Buckeyes for its roster. Former Ohio State star Marcus Freeman is of course the head coach of Notre Dame — and will now get to coach the two former Buckeyes.

Ohio State was trying to bring back Graham to bolster their depth, but they’ll have to find that elsewhere. Graham played in 13 games over two seasons with six catches for 93 yards. Playing behind Smith, Carnell Tate, and Inniss in 2025 and Emeka Egbuka hasn’t allowed for anyone else to really step in.

It was telling during the season when former walk-on David Adolph was taking snaps over Porter and Graham. Two players in their first and second seasons in the program who just hadn’t found their footing to that point enough for the staff to put them in many game situations. According to 247 Sports, Graham was the No. 39th ranked wide receiver available in the portal.

Graham has plenty of talent and the ability to break the game open with his speed. The former five-star recruit from Indiana will be suiting up for the Fighting Irish with a chance to get on the field in 2026.
