Jake Diebler responds to Ohio State basketball player giving Michigan bulletin board material ahead of Big Ten rivalry game
The Buckeyes will play Michigan next and it’s a huge chance for Ohio State to grab a big win.
The Ohio State Buckeyes have won three of their last four Big Ten games and back-to-back following an 82-74 win over Minnesota on Tuesday. Ahead is a tough road matchup against the No. 3 Michigan Wolverines on Friday.
Ohio State will be a big road underdog against a Michigan team that is 17-1 and the only loss of the season was a 91-88 game against Wisconsin on Jan. 10.
Buckeyes’ Colin White is confident heading into Ann Arbor
Ahead of the rivalry matchup on Jan. 23, Ohio State forward Colin White didn’t hold back on the Buckeyes’ plans.
“We hate Michigan, so we’re coming out for blood, we’re going up there to win, and we’re going to have fun doing it.”
Jake Diebler reacts to Colin White’s comments about Michigan
“I think I understand, figuratively, what that means,” Ohio State head coach Jake Diebler stated. “Listen, this is a game that obviously we all are really excited for. I think, for us, it’s a game that should be played twice a year. I’m glad the Big Ten did that, and it should be like that always and forever.”
We’re really excited for the opportunity and they’re playing really well. But we’re doing some really good things too, we’re going to go up there and give it our absolute best.”
White’s comments were just a sophomore player showing some confidence coming off his biggest moment of the season. White played 19 minutes against Minnesota due to foul trouble and injuries within the lineup. The sophomore forward had a key steal and coast to coast score to seal the win against Minnesota.
Diebler’s Buckeyes are 13-5 and 5-3 in Big Ten play heading into Friday.
Michigan will be a tough task for Ohio State on Friday at 8 p.m. Ohio State will now need to go out and match White’s comments with a competitive showing against the Wolverines in a tough matchup.
