Ohio State football team captain confirms suspicion on how the Buckeyes are feeling over a month after their season ended
It’s hard for anyone to be okay with what happened to Ohio State to end the season.
The Ohio State Buckeyes attempted to win back-to-back national championships for the first time in school history this past season. Ohio State came up short of that goal with a disappointing finish to the season in the quarterfinal of the College Football Playoff.
Losing to Miami was tough for the Buckeyes because it ended their season. Ohio State lost two straight games to end the year between the Big Ten Championship and in the CFP, which makes it even worse.
Brandon Inniss confirmed what we all figured about Ohio State
Ryan Day’s Buckeyes have done a ton of winning over the past two seasons and as it currently stands they’re on a two-game losing streak. To no surprise, how the season ended for Ohio State has stuck with the team.
“We’ve still got a bad taste in our mouth,” Inniss said via Eleven Warriors. “This whole year, we’re going to be living with that, what happened to us.”
But we’ve got to work hard. Ain’t nothing going to be given to us. We’ve just got to be where our feet are right now and work hard in the offseason.”
Ohio State is going to have high expectations again in 2026 and a team leader saying last season didn’t sit righters the team is exactly what you want to see. Inniss is the only returning receiver in the rotation from last season along with Jeremiah Smith.
The Buckeyes returned their entire offensive line, hired Arthur Smith from the NFL to call offensive plays, and saw major turnover in the transfer portal. Ohio State is going to look a lot different in 2026, but key pieces will still be in place. Smith and Julian Sayin will be the main connection on offense and RB Bo Jackson returns to lead the backfield.
Ohio State was 12-2 last season and has a very tough schedule ahead in 2026. The Buckeyes will take some lumps in 2026, but they’ll be in the mix at the end of the season as they usually are.
