Ohio State Buckeyes get great news on the injury front with Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate right before facing Michigan
Ohio Stare Buckeyes now know the status of their star wideouts against the Michigan Wolverines.
We are just a short time away from the Ohio State Buckeyes and Michigan Wolverines kicking off the greatest rivalry in college football.
All week, the conversation has centered on the injury status of Ohio State’s two star wideouts. When the Buckeyes moved to 11-0 after beating Rutgers, they did so without both Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate. Tate has missed the last three games since feeling tightness in his lower extremities before the Purdue matchup earlier this month.
Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate’s playing status against Michigan
The Buckeyes will get both of their star wideouts back on the field today, just in time for The Game, per ESPN’s Pete Thamel. Smith and Tate will return to action, which is significant news for Julian Sayin and the Ohio State offense. The Buckeyes managed just 176 passing yards last week against Rutgers but have averaged 266.5 passing yards per game this season.
Ohio State may be 11-0, but they’ve technically accomplished nothing yet, with everything still in front of them. Having their two wideouts—who have combined for 1,600 receiving yards this season—is vital against Michigan as the Buckeyes look to end their four-game skid against the Wolverines.
There has been plenty of discussion all week about the status of Smith and Tate, and it’s now confirmed that Ohio State will be at full strength on offense. Not a single player on this roster owns a pair of gold pants, and that’s exactly what the Buckeyes will be chasing today.
