Ohio State football’s 2026 schedule release brings some worrisome reality to Ryan Day and the Buckeyes
Ohio State’s 2026 schedule has been released in full and it’s a tough one.
The Ohio State Buckeyes learned what their 2026 schedule would look like on Tuesday.
A season after going 12-2 with two straight losses to Miami and Indiana to end the season, the 2026 season is a tough task for the Buckeyes. The full schedule is available below.
Tough stretch of games stands out on Ohio State’s schedule
Just like the Texas Longhorns came to Columbus next fall, the Buckeyes will travel to Austin in 2026. After a warm-up game against Ball State, Ohio State will play the Arch Manning-led Longhorns. Ohio State’s toughest stretch will start on Oct. 17 when they play the national champion Hoosiers.
After that trip to Indiana, Ohio State will have a week off before it travels to take on the USC Trojans. USC brings back QB Jayden Maiava and the top recruiting class in the country. West coast trips aren’t easy and the Trojans will be a solid team in 2026.
When Ohio State returns home on Nov. 7, a tough test with Dante Moore and the Oregon Ducks will be on tap. Oregon traveling to Columbus is good news, but the Ducks are one of the title favorites for the 2026 season for good reason. This will be a battle.
Ohio State picked up a win with a potential trap game
Iowa has caused problems for the Buckeyes in the past, and they’ll play on the road against the Hawkeyes on Oct. 3. Ohio State gets home games with Illinois and Maryland around the Iowa game, which is good news for the schedule.
Ohio State will have to bring it every week in 2026. The schedule is a step up from 2025 and there’s no shying away from that.
