Ohio State got some tough news this week when 2026 Lewis Center (Ohio) Olentangy safety Kaden Gebhardt opted for Clemson over offers from the Buckeyes, Penn State, and Notre Dame. Anytime Ohio State allows a really talented football player to leave the Buckeye State, it isn't a good thing. Gebhardt is a loss, no doubt about it.
Following the loss, Ohio State did receive some good news when Flowood (Miss.) Hartfield Academy safety Bralan Womack announced he has locked in an official visit for June 20-22. The Buckeyes have been viewed as a favorite for the Mississippi native for some time now. Womack doesn't shy away from the fact that he also grew up a fan of the program.
The main competition for Womack right now is Florida, Texas A&M, and Auburn. Each of those programs will be receiving an official visit from Womack this offseason. The plan is for Womack to make a decision sometime before his senior season begins.
Womack is considered a five-star recruit on the 247Sports Composite ranking. That is buoyed by the their own personal ranking, where Womack currently sits as the No. 12 overall player, No. 1 safety, and No. 2 player from the state of Mississippi in the 2026 recruiting class. This is the definition of an elite football player.
As a junior, Womack put his talents on display on both sides of the football. He was named the Mississippi Gatorade Player of the Year. The 5-11, 195-pound athlete was able to collect 39 total tackles and eight interceptions on defense. On offense, Womack managed to haul in 54 receptions for 1,045 yards and 13 touchdowns. He did all that while also making an impact as a kick and punt returner.
It shouldn't be overly surprising that pretty much every top program in college football is pursuing Womack. Some of the top programs that have offered include the Buckeyes, Notre Dame, Georgia, Alabama, Oregon, Texas, Tennessee, LSU, Florida, Texas A&M, Auburn, Penn State, and Nebraska among many others.
All signs point toward a Bosa-brothers reunion for first time since before separate dominant Ohio State runs
One possibility immediately speculated upon when the Los Angeles Chargers released star defensive end Joey Bosa could be closer to happening. The San Francisco 49ers have Nick Bosa on their roster, and their decision to release veteran Leonard Floyd on Tuesday opened significant cap room and a valued role. The two never played together at […]
