The Ohio State Buckeyes brought in a nice recruiting class for 2026 and they’re already off to a blazing start in 2027

Ohio State added 28 incoming freshmen in the class of 2026 and that number is expected to be a bit smaller in 2027 with the new landscape of college football with the transfer portal.

There are already nine players committed to Ohio State for 2027 and they’re now predicted to potentially be on the brink of adding another.

Buckeyes predicted to add 2027 OT Davis Seaman

Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong has predicted that Ohio State will land Bishop Watterson (OH) OT Davis Seaman. Seaman is a 6-foot-3, 275-pound offensive lineman right in Columbus the Buckeyes have been interested in for some time.

Ohio State first extended an offer to Seaman back on Oct. 5 of last season. Buckeyes offensive line coach Tyler Bowen recently paid a visit to Seaman at Bishop Watterson.

According to 247 Sports Composite, Seaman is the No. 438 player in the country and the No. 38-ranked offensive tackle. Seaman ranks as the No. 15 player in the state and has offers from programs like Auburn, Penn State, Kentucky, Nebraska, and Louisville.

Ohio State’s 2027 offensive line class is already taking shape

The Buckeyes currently have three offensive line commitments and two of them are from Ohio. Mason Wilt and Kellen Wymer are in-state commits who would join Seaman in that regard if the Buckeyes can land him. Brody McNeel is a three-star offensive tackle commitment from Virginia.

Ohio State is still going to take its big swing for five-star OT Mark Mathews, but the Buckeyes have a solid base with in-state commitments. Ohio State typically recruits offensive line in-state harder than any position, and next year’s recruiting class is already looking no different.
