The Ohio State Buckeyes began spring practice on Tuesday morning, which means we’re just a little closer to football being back in the fall.

With spring practice here, it’ll also be a key recurring time for the Buckeyes with the ability to get recruits in to watch them practice and on campus.

Ohio State has the majority of its focus on the class of 2027 where they have nine commitments currently, and they could soon add to the number.

Ohio State makes final three for in-state offensive line target

The Buckeyes are one of three schools remaining in the mix for Bishop Watterson (OH) 2027 OL Davis Seaman. While the Buckeyes are the favorite to land the Columbus recruit, the Auburn Tigers and Penn State Nittany Lions are two other schools in contention.

Seaman is the No. 405 player nationally and No. 20 interior offensive lineman, according to 247 Sports composite rankings. Seaman currently plays right tackle in high school but could end up a guard at the next level. The current high school junior is 6-foot-4 and 290 pounds.

Ohio State extended an offer to Seaman last October and he’s been able to get on campus multiple times during his high school career. The Buckeyes put an emphasis on keeping the best offering linemen in Ohio and Seaman is one of them.

The Buckeyes already have four-star OT Kellen Wymer, and three-star OT Mason Wilt committed in the class as in-state players. Three-star OT Brody McNeel is the other offensive line commitment for the Buckeyes.

Landing a player right in Columbus like Seaman has to happen and the Buckeyes can’t allow Penn State or Auburn to swoop in and get him.

Ohio State landing the in-state players allows them to then go after one big target along the offensive line typically, in this class, it should be five-star Mark Matthews.
