There's always some buzz around who ESPN College GameDay's guest picker will be. With Ohio State hosting No. 5 Indiana on Saturday afternoon, there will be a palpable sense of stress and excitement for both programs.

The Buckeyes are hoping a familiar face who played well against Indiana in his time with the program provides a spark.

Former Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields is set to return to Columbus as the guest picker for ESPN’s College GameDay before the Buckeyes take on Indiana this Saturday. Fields was 2-0 against Indiana, throwing for 499 yards, five touchdowns, and three interceptions in those two outings.

The Buckeyes beat Indiana 51-10 in 2019 and 42-35 in 2020 with Fields under center.

Fields will join Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso, Pat McAfee, and others for the highly-anticipated Big Ten matchup, as announced by ESPN College GameDay on Friday.

Fields played for Ohio State in 2019 and 2020 after transferring from Georgia, earning the title of MVP in the Big Ten in 2020 while leading the Buckeyes to the national championship game.

With the Steelers having played on Thursday night against the Browns, Fields has the weekend free to return to Ohio State and experience this significant Big Ten contest.

Saturday’s game is crucial for Ohio State, as they aim to secure a spot in the Big Ten Championship game and the College Football Playoff. However, the Hoosiers will provide a strong challenge.

Indiana has emerged as a surprise team in the Big Ten and the larger college football scene in 2024, entering the game with a perfect 10-0 record. That said, this matchup will be Indiana’s toughest test of the season so far.
