The Ohio State Buckeyes are hoping 2027 five-star prospect Duvay Williams will live out his dreams in Columbus eventually. Williams, 6-foot-1 and 155 pounds, is a two-way star out of Gardena, California.
He hopes to continue playing on both sides of the ball in college, much like Colorado star and Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter. The Buckeyes are willing to give him that chance, and wide receiver coach Brian Hartline offered Williams a scholarship this week.
An elite track star who runs the 100-meter dash at 10.92, Williams is the type of athlete the Buckeyes often seek when they go out of state. The Buckeyes have been named to his top four, alongside USC, Alabama, and Georgia. Oregon is considered part of the chase, as well.
“Ohio State is serious about football, and they’ve got a legacy of sending guys to the league,” Duvay explained. “That kind of program is hard to ignore.”
Here's the scouting report from 247Sports' Greg Biggins has on Williams:
Williams is a probable top 100 player in the ’27 class and has already been compared to former Cavalier greats Robert Woods and Adoree Jackson, who were both standouts in track as well as football. Like Woods and Jackson, Williams is a two-way player who could end up at corner or receiver in college. He has excellent ball skills, is explosive in and out of his breaks and can get down the field. As a corner, he uses his 6-0+ length, quick feet and natural instincts to shadow an opposing receiver all over the field. He’s a physical player with a nice edge in his game and already a national recruit. Had a nice freshman year on the track as well with personal bests 10.92-100m, 22.05-200m and ran anchor on schools 4X100m relay team.
