The Ohio State Buckeyes appear to be in a tough fight with another Big Ten school to land an elite 2025 prospect.
According to On3’s Steve Wiltfong, Ohio State is joined by USC as the top two contenders for five-star 2025 cornerback Dorian Brew.
Ohio State will not get their official visit with Brew until June 21, but that is a key date for them with that being his last scheduled official visit. Prior to visiting Columbus, Brew will visit LSU, Oregon, and Texas in that order.
The Buckeyes already have the No. 1 and No. 2 cornerbacks committed in Devin Sanchez and Na’eem Offord. Still, if the Buckeyes can walk away from the 2025 cycle with three elite cornerbacks, they absolutely have to take that.
Brew is the No. 5 cornerback in the country and the No. 25 overall player, according to 247 Sports. Coming from no state other than Texas that will always pump out a rich amount of football prospects, Brew already facing that kind of competition is a plus.
Listed at 6-foot-2 and 185 pounds, Brew already has the size and build to step out there and play on Saturday afternoons. Just speculating, but the obvious hard selling point for the Buckeyes would be for him to join a class that already has Offord and Sanchez committed.
USC is entering the Big Ten for the first time in the 2024 season and they’re already battling it out with the Buckeyes for an elite prospect. The two schools have battled it out for prospects before, but it means that much more when you are in the same conference.
At this time, Brew does not have a commitment date set but it wouldn’t be a surprise if he makes that decision shortly after wrapping up his official visits.
