The Ohio State Buckeyes are looking to win on and off the field this weekend. Hosting Nebraska at home offers head coach Ryan Day the chance to instill some confidence back into the program after losing 32-31 to Oregon two weeks ago.

Landing elite 5-star defensive tackle Jahkeem Stewart and keeping two key flip targets from Miami would bring another huge sigh of relief and celebration. The Buckeyes are hosting a huge recruiting event this weekend and are carefully eyeing what their competition has in store for their commitments.

Stewart is set to make his initial visit to OSU this fall, placing the responsibility on Larry Johnson to ensure that his debut at Ohio Stadium is a success. The standout from Louisiana, who recently shifted from the 2026 class, will return to OSU for the Michigan game in November and is also being courted by Oregon, LSU, and USC.

With Ohio State's current concerns regarding their pass rush, bringing Stewart to Columbus could significantly impact the program.

Four-star 2025 offensive tackle Damola Ajidahun is visiting Ohio State for the first time since receiving an offer from Justin Frye, making it crucial to leave a strong impression on this Georgia Tech commit.

Offensive tackle remains a key need for the Buckeyes in the 2025 class, and they face stiff competition from South Carolina and Georgia in their efforts to persuade Ajidahun to reverse his commitment.

Several other committed players will be present, with four-star defensive end Zahir Mathis standing out. This will be Mathis's long-anticipated official visit to Columbus, providing Johnson with valuable time to further engage with the Philadelphia talent. Ohio State is working diligently to retain Mathis as Penn State continues to try to keep him in-state.

There will also be some noteworthy visitors from the 2026 class, but here's where we pivot to those Ohio State commits need to keep.

4-star defenders Tarvos Alford and Jarquez Carter will both be in Miami for their matchup against Florida State. Both are considered solid Ohio State commits with a lower chance of flipping, but with the Buckeyes constantly trying to keep strong NIL-backed programs off their recruits, the door is always open.

Both players are from Florida, and Miami is trending toward another top-five recruiting class for good reason. Mario Cristobal and his staff will push all their chips in for guys who can get on the field early. We'll see if the Buckeyes can simultaneously play offense and defense here.
