Former Ohio State football star still starting in the NFL arrested on serious charges back in the Buckeye state
Former Buckeyes defensive back Marshon Lattimore has been arrested.
The Ohio State Buckeyes received some bad news regarding one of their former players on Thursday afternoon. According to reports, former OSU and current Washington Commanders cornerback Marshon Lattimore was arrested on serious charges.
The Commanders released a statement on the situation.
“We have been made aware of the arrest and are gathering more information. We are in communication with the NFL League Office and have no further comment at this time,” the Washington Commanders statement said.
Former Ohio State CB Marshon Lattimore arrested by Cleveland police
Via Jonathan Jones and WKYC, police arrested Lattimore on charges alleging carrying concealed weapons and improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle.
Lattimore was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in 2017 but was traded to the Washington Commanders during the 2024 season. His performance at Ohio State earned him a first-round NFL Draft pedigree. I discussed his time in Scarlet and Grey with Brandon Little, who covers the Buckeyes.
“Lattimore had to wait his turn at Ohio State, but it all came together in 2016 in his one season as a starter. The former Buckeye totaled four interceptions, nine passes defended, and had 41 tackles to his credit. That lone season starting was enough for Lattimore to become the No. 11 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.
“Ohio State has long had a great relationship with developing talent from Glenville High School in Cleveland, and Lattimore is a great example of that. Lattimore’s 2017 season with Ohio State remains one of the better seasons by a cornerback for the Buckeyes in recent memory. The 6-foot cornerback propelled that one year at Ohio State into a great first few years in the NFL.” — Brandon Little
We’ll update this story if more details emerge on the former Buckeye defender’s status.
