Jeremiah Smith took his Ohio State legend to the next level during the Buckeyes' blowout win over the Oregon Ducks in the Rose Bowl. It was the second playoff game in a row where he took over for the Ohio State offense.
He's one of the best wide receiver prospects of the generation, and he is not even NFL Draft eligible yet. He's a confident, young player that is showing out on the gridiron.
Jeremiah Smith can't be stopped
When asked if anybody can stop him, Smith kept it short and sweet. He simply told Rece Davis, "No". He has not been proven wrong yet, either.
Smith tried to warn Oregon about what the Buckeyes were going to do in the Rose Bowl, too.
"I'm just laughing in my head. Why are y'all really playing man-on-man against us, or against me, I should say?" Smith said. "And when we see man [coverage] against any of our receivers, we're going to take a shot down the field. So I'm just letting everybody know right now that if you play man Wednesday, we're taking a shot." — Smith via Brandon Little
You cannot say that the dynamic wide receiver has not told his opponents what's coming, and he's putting it on the table once again after the victory against Oregon. He does not believe anyone will be able to stop him.
Dan Lanning had a strong review of Smith after his team fell to Ohio State. His team failed to defend Smith well, and the Buckeyes took advantage at nearly every chance.
"He's strong. He attacks the ball in the air as well as any receiver I've seen. I mean, the guy is NFL-ready. He's that talented. He's very special," Lanning said. "Will Howard did a great job of getting the ball to him tonight. He's tough to defend. He's physical. He's got all the tools. Really talented player."

For the Buckeyes, they'll face the Texas Longhorns in the semi-finals of the College Football Playoff in their next test. That's no small feat to accomplish, but Smith and his teammates are ready.
Meet the unsung hero who saved Ohio State's season with selfless position change
Oftentimes, the hero in a program's success is obvious. The Buckeyes knew Jeremiah Smith, TreVeyon Henderson, and Cody Simon could be relied upon. But when the 2024 season brought a devastating injury to left tackle Josh Simmons, Ohio State had to look for an internal answer who lacked qualifications. Thankfully, Donovan Jackson stepped up to […]
