Ohio State recruits as well as any other college football program in the country. One big reason for that is co-offensive coordinator/wide receivers coach Brian Hartline and his ability to recruit the wide receiver position.

Columbus has been a stopping point for five-star wide receivers on their way to the NFL the last few years. Hartline develops and recruits wide receivers like no one else.

Recently, it was reported that Hartline interviewed for the head coaching job at West Virginia before they hired Rich Rodriguez. Now just before the Buckeyes play Oregon, Hartline sounds a lot like a guy that wants to stay in Columbus.

"Being a head coach is not really on my mind," Hartline said, via Eleven Warriors. "Year-to-year you always have people who reach out and want to speak to you about opportunities. I'm never in a situation where I'm never going to talk to someone or anything about an opportunity, but my focus is – I love being at Ohio State. It's well-documented, and I see it as such."

Hartline played in Columbus in the late 2000s and came back to Columbus following a seven-year NFL career. Hartline got his start in 2017 as a quality control assistant with the Buckeyes. Since 2018, the former Buckeyes has served as the wide receivers coach. Hartline was the OC last year with Ryan Day calling plays and now he is the co-OC along with Chip Kelly.

Losing Hartline is eventually going to come at some point. He is a 38-year-old coach who is one of the top up-and-coming coaching names. Hartline is the reason the Buckeyes have Jeremiah Smith in Columbus right now. The day that Hartline does leave, the Buckeyes are going to take a big hit to their recruiting.

Hartline isn’t allowing the thought of him to be a distraction as the Buckeyes get ready to take on Oregon. Ohio State has three more games in front of them if they want to win a National Championship.
