Ohio State currently has just five commitments in the class of 2026 but momentum is picking up for that number to rise.
The Buckeyes have been hosting a boatload of recruits lately and that will continue through the spring and summer. According to 247 Sports, Ohio State has the No. 23 ranked class in 2026. It is very early and there is no reason to panic as that ranking will improve quickly.
Ohio State is working on flipping a current Big 12 commitment and no other than Buckeyes OC Brian Hartline is leading the charge.
Buckeyes working to flip one of TCU’s top commitments
According to On3’s Steve Wiltfong, the Buckeyes are in pursuit of four-star WR Brock Boyd, who has been committed to TCU since last July. Boyd is ranked No. 349 in the class of 2026, per 247 Sports Composite.
Tennessee, Kentucky, and Wisconsin are the other programs pushing for a flipped commitment from Boyd. The 6-foot-1 wideout had a huge junior season at Southlake Carroll High School in Texas with 1,875 receiving yards, 111 catches, and 20 touchdowns.
So far in the class of 2026, five-star WR Chris Henry Jr. is the Buckeyes’ top commitment. In State WR Jaedan Rockets is the other wideout commitment for the Buckeyes and he is a four-star player from Watkins Memorial High School.
It seems to be each year that Hartline recognizes a lower-level recruit than they typically target at wide receiver and pursue heavily. Last cycle it was Bodpegn Miller and Boyd may be that guy for 2026.
Boyd visited Ohio State earlier in the week and the Buckeyes look to be in great shape with a flip heavily on the radar here.
