In 2025 Ohio State will have to turn the football over to a new starting quarterback for the third straight season. Overall, the Buckeyes are losing a bunch of talent from their National Championship team that went 14-2 and defeated Notre Dame in the final game.

Luckily for Ohio State, they just reload and Columbus and will continue to churn out talent. That won’t be any different in 2025.

Ohio State CB Denzel Burke will soon be drafted and is at the NFL Scouting Combine this week. Burke gave some insight on who is next up for the Buckeyes.

"I think Julian [Sayin] is that guy, to be honest with you,” Burke said on Thursday. “Julian's a great player, great zip on the ball, [and has] great pocket presence. He's going to have a good career."

The sophomore quarterback will battle it out with Lincoln Kienholz and Tavien St. Clair (to a lesser extent) for the starting job under center. The general feeling is that the Alabama transfer and former five-star recruit Sayin will take the offense over for Will Howard.

As a true freshman, Sayin saw limited action in four games as the team’s No. 3 quarterback. The future Ohio State starter completed 5-of-12 passes for 84 yards and a touchdown.

Coming out of high school, Sayin was the Elite 11 winner and the No. 3 QB in the class of 2024. The former five-star is a 6-foot-1, 205-pound quarterback. Sayin is a much smaller quarterback than we’re used to in Columbus, but he is a terrific processor and highly accurate.

"A couple [of] practices in, when he first got here, just the way he's throwing the ball, how he's to himself, how he's all about ball. I could just tell,” Burke said of when he realized Sayin’s talents.

Sayin may not be a household name across the country right now unless you follow recruiting, however, he will be soon.
