Last week was a huge week for the Ohio State Buckeyes when it comes to recruiting.

Ohio State started the week with a five-star addition of S Blaine Bradford, then they added four-star S Simeon Caldwell later in the week. Three-star LB CJ Sanna made his pledge to the Buckeyes as well.

Student Appreciation Day was on Saturday and the Buckeyes hosted a number of key recruits that day too. None was bigger than another five-star safety that they stand in a great position with.

Ohio State Buckeyes lead for 2026 five-star S Bralan Womack

The Buckeyes hosted Hartfield Academy (MS) S Bralan Womack, who is the No. 1 safety in the country, according to 247 Sports. Womack’s visit appears to have gone terrific and On3’s Steve Wiltfong reported that the Buckeyes are the leader for Womack.

“Ohio State is No. 1 now. I’m just ready to get back for my official visit,” Womack said, via On3.

Womack is the No. 12 recruit in the country and the Buckeyes are competing against Florida, Texas A&M, and Auburn to land his commitment. The Buckeyes will receive an official visit from Womack on June 20 and it is his final official visit scheduled.

Safeties coach Matt Guerreri is leading the recruitment for the Buckeyes and landing Womack would be huge for Ohio State since they already have Bradford and Caldwell committed.

“Their message to me was to come be a part of something special and be developed and become another first-rounder,” Womack said via On3.

Womack isn’t expected to commit until after his official visits and closer to his senior season. The Buckeyes have to feel good about where they stand with one of the best players in the class of 2026.
