Currently, the Buckeyes have eight commitments on the offensive side of the football and five on the defensive side.
Ohio State has gotten off to a great start with their secondary recruiting and they stand in a great place with two safeties and two cornerbacks committed already. Now, a five-star safety has scheduled an official visit to Columbus.
Bishop Gorman (NV) five-star S Jett Washington will take an official visit to Columbus from June 6-8. Washington will be on campus with the Alabama Crimson Tide this coming weekend, a program that is a major contender to land him. Additionally, Washington will take his final scheduled official visit to Oregon on the week of June 13.
Washington is the No. 4 safety and No. 29 overall player in the class of 2026, per 247 Sports Composite. Ohio State has the No. 2 S Blaine Bradford and the No. 6 S Simeon Caldwell committed already. The Buckeyes are likely to take at least three safeties in this class and already have a very talented duo committed
“A physical specimen with rare size and rare range that could be positioned over the top, in the box or in the slot. Tipped the scales at 6-foot-5, 210 pounds spring before senior year and posted exceptional testing numbers for a player of his stature. Spent much of the 11th-grade campaign serving as a backstop for one of America’s top prep defenses. Constantly found ways to impact games as he chewed up turf and got to the catch point. Has continued to improve as an open-field tackler since he first arrived on the national recruiting scene as a freshman and will hit like a missile if the opportunity presents itself.” — Andrew Ivins, 247 Sports
Oregon may be the program to beat for Washington but the Buckeyes getting him on campus at least gives them a shot. Ohio State has recruited Washington for quite some time and they are going to continue to do so.
