Flip season is taking off in the college football world right now ahead of the early signing period. Some teams are working on holding onto their commitments, while others are trying to flip a recruit committed to another school.

Ohio State has had worries lately about one five-star recruit in particular, who is now predicted to land with another school when he goes to sign.

According to On3’s Steve Wiltfong, the belief is that Auburn will flip the commitment of cornerback Na’eem Offord from Ohio State.

Offord has been committed to Ohio State since February, but things have been on the edge for a while now it seems. Offord was at Oregon when the Buckeyes lost to the Ducks earlier in the season, and he has visited Auburn multiple times this season. Now, it appears that the Tigers will be making a splash in the recruiting world by flipping a five-star player from Ohio State.

Rated as the No. 2 cornerback in the country, Offord is a Birmingham, Alabama native. Being right in the heart of SEC country, it is no surprise that southern schools continued to push hard even after his commitment to Ohio State.

Ohio State does have five-star Devin Sanchez committed to play next year and the last class featured two highly rated cornerbacks Aaron Scott Jr. and Bryce West. Ohio State is working on flipping a Cincinnati cornerback commitment in the wake of all of this.

This news on Offord being predicted to flip shouldn't surprise anyone. As is often said, where there's smoke there is fire. Offord has given a lot of attention elsewhere and hasn’t made getting back to Columbus a point of emphasis.

Ohio State will continue their own flip aspirations elsewhere but they are on pace to lose one of their own as well.
