Ohio State has been hit by a few transfers with their season still going on in the College Football Playoff. Whenever the Buckeyes see their season end, we could see a few more players jump into the transfer portal.

One former Buckeye recently found his new landing spot and he is going back home to continue his college football career.

Offensive lineman Zen Michalski had recently announced he would enter the transfer portal. Now, it is known that Michalski is signed to play with the Indiana Hoosiers next season.

Michalski was the No. 4 player and No. 21 offensive tackle in the class of 2021. After four seasons in Columbus, the Buckeye transfer will have one season of eligibility left to play college football.

For the majority of his four seasons with the Buckeyes, Michalski has been in a reserve role. When Josh Simmons was lost for the season against Oregon in the first matchup between the two teams back in October, Michalski played the rest of that game. Michalski made his wonky career start against Nebraska before suffering an injury that game that would cost him the rest of this season.

Even with Simmons and Josh Fryar off the team next year, there still was no path for Michalski to start next year with incoming transfers Phillip Daniels and Ethan Onianwa set to potentially be the starters next season.

Michalski leaves Columbus having played in 35 career games and now has a chance to go and win a starting job at Indiana next season. The Buckeyes do not play Indiana next season, so the paths aren’t likely to cross. Indiana and the Buckeyes would both need to make the Big Ten Championship game.
