It was another day at the office for Ohio State’s star freshman wide receiver Jeremiah Smith against Purdue in Week 11 of the college football season. Ohio State defeated Purdue 45-0 and Smith had a big hand in that result.

After not having a touchdown in a game for the first time last week against Penn State, Smith once again found the end zone against the Boilermakers. The freshman phenom caught six passes for 87 yards and didn’t play late against Purdue.

The thing that stood out most about Smith may have been what he did after the game. Smith put an interview on hold to make sure he joined his teammates for ‘Carmen Ohio’.

Smith has only been in Columbus for less than a year and has played just nine games for the Buckeyes. Still, he knows the importance of ‘Carmen Ohio’ as a player from Florida. The video above will surely go over well with Buckeye Nation.

So far this season, Smith has 45 receptions for 765 yards and nine touchdowns. He leads the Buckeyes in all of those receiving categories and he has already broken the freshman record for each category, which was held by Cris Carter.

It was known that Ohio State was going to rely heavily on Smith this year. The No. 1 overall recruit in the class of 2024 was always going to have a Day 1 impact for the Buckeyes and the best thing about it is that he will be around for three seasons.

A lot of season remains still for Smith, who very well could end up north of 1,200 receiving yards as a freshman in Columbus this season. He has the potential, talent, and obviously the charger to make a great NFL player down the road.
