The Week 10 matchup between Ohio State and Penn State was one that both coaches Ryan Day and James Franklin badly needed. Day walked away with the 20-13 win and Penn State was handed their first loss of the season.
Ohio State outscored the Nittany Lions 20-3 after falling behind early 10-0. After a goal line stop late in the fourth quarter, Ohio State put together an 11-play drive to run out the clock and grab the huge road win over the No. 3 team.
After the game, Franklin gave credit to the Buckeyes and said they had a ‘championship drive’.
"Not only could you pin them back, but you could also get safety and get the ball back, which puts you in a position to win the game,” Franklin explained, via 247 Sports. “Get a two-point safety and get the ball back with three timeouts. They had a championship drive right there at the end. We did not play well in an obvious running situation. We did not handle the fact that the offense didn't score in that situation well."
Ohio State had 176 yards on the ground and 182 yards through the air to total 358 yards of offense against Penn State. The Buckeyes defense showed up and allowed just two field goals and 270 total yards in the win. It was the second big week in a row for defensive coordinator Jim Knowles’ unit.
"Give Ohio State credit; they did a really good job today. We did some things that were good enough to win and others we did were not.”
Ohio State will move into the top three rankings tomorrow with the win and they will turn their focus to Purdue. But for tonight, the vibes will be great in Columbus.

A huge day for coach Day and the Buckeyes.
