It is officially flipping season in the world of college football recruiting and many programs are going to be impacted one way or another. The Ohio State Buckeyes are an example of that.

Ohio State recently lost a defensive line commitment from Zahir Mathis in the 2025 class and now they have been hit once again. Edge rusher London Merritt announced on Tuesday that he was re-opening his recruitment and was no longer committed to playing in Columbus.

According to 247 Sports, the momentum favors Deion Sanders and Colorado to land a commitment from Merritt. Merritt is a 6-foot-2, 250-pound edge from Bradenton, Florida, and plays his high school ball at IMG Academy.

Zion Grady is the only true pass rusher committed to play football in Columbus in the 2025 class. Maxwell Roy, Trajen Odom, and Jarquez Carter are all interior players, though there is some versatility to kick outside.

Merritt is the No. 13 edge in the class of 2025 and the No. 144 overall player. The Buckeyes now have the No. 2 class in the country, trailing the Georgia Bulldogs. Ohio State’s next flip could be five-star cornerback Na’eem Offord, who is projected to head to the SEC.
