Ohio State could soon receive bad news off the field that could feel a whole lot worse than it really is

Things are going great for the Ohio State Buckeyes on the gridiron. They have won four straight games and they are ranked No. 2 in the country at 9-1 on the season. Their next test against Indiana will be a top-five matchup that all of the college football world will be watching.
Off the field, things aren’t as bright at the moment with a current verbal commitment. Momentum is gaining that the Buckeyes could soon lose linebacker Tarvos Alford’s commitment for the class of 2025.
In fact, On3’s Steve Wiltfong predicts that the current Buckeye commit is actually going to flip to the Miami Hurricanes.
There have been rumblings for quite some time that the Buckeyes could lose Alford, who has been committed to the Buckeyes since March 30. Alford is from Vero Beach, Florida, so to no surprise the Florida schools are recruiting him hard.
Alford took his official visit to Miami back in June, then he took one to Florida State in mid-September. The No. 9 ranked linebacker in the country is seen as the No. 103 overall player, per the 247 Sports’ Composite rankings.
If the Buckeyes were to lose Alford, they still have four-star linebacker Riley Pettijohn and in-state three-star linebacker Eli Lee committed. Both players are set to sign with the Buckeyes next month.
With today’s world of college football recruiting, it is no surprise that the Buckeyes could be having a player pull their commitment this close to signing day. It would not be a surprise if the Buckeyes lost more than one commitment.
Now, we just wait and see if Alford pulls his commitment. It is something that would come rather soon with National Signing Day around the corner.
