Ohio State Buckeyes are in pursuit of adding to their 2026 recruiting class and the five current commitments that they have.
The Buckeyes left a good impression on one of their key targets in the 2026 class this past week during his visit and it could pay off big in the end.
2026 four-star CB Jordan Thomas was on campus this past week and revealed that the Buckeyes stand in a terrific spot in his recruitment.
“Ohio State is a favorite for me in my recruitment at this time,” Thomas said via Eleven Warriors. “Getting to compete with like-minded individuals while also being developed in all aspects of life is what’s appealing to me about playing for the Buckeyes.”
Thomas is ranked as the No. 125 overall player in the class of 2026 and the No. 16 cornerback in the class, according to 247 Sports. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound cornerback attends Bergen Catholic in Oradell, New Jersey.
Ohio State hit big at cornerback last recruiting cycle by bringing in the top player at the position, Devin Sanchez. Two classes ago it was Aaron Scott Jr. and Bryce West as the top two cornerback recruits. All three of these players will join Jermaine Mathews Jr. and Davison Igbinosun on the depth chart for the Buckeyes.
So far for the class of 2026, the Buckeyes have one cornerback committed and that is in-state recruit, Jakob Weatherspoon. Ohio State will again take multiple at the cornerback position this go around.
Thomas has offers from Alabama, Notre Dame, Michigan, Miami, Oklahoma, and Penn State amongst others. If the Buckeyes can continue with the momentum in this recruitment, they’ll have a positive outcome in the end.
