Jake Diebler and the Ohio State Buckeyes are continuing their roster makeover and have a new addition via the transfer portal.

The Buckeyes opened things up by landing G Gabe Cupps from Indiana, then was able to bring in Santa Clara C Christoph Tilly. Ohio State has watched C Austin Parks, C Aaron Bradshaw, F Evan Mahaffey, and G Meechie Johnson exit in the transfer portal.

Ohio State’s newest addition gives them the depth they need on the interior by the way of a productive player.

Wright State F Brandon Noel chooses the Ohio State Buckeyes

After bringing in the 7-footer Tilly, the Buckeyes are adding more depth in the front-court. First reported by On3’s Joe Tipton, the Buckeyes have landed a commitment from Wright State transfer Brandon Noel, who is entering his senior season in 2025-2026.

The 6-foot-8 forward put up 19 points and 7.7 rebounds per game this past season while shooting 55 percent from the field and 35 percent from deep. Noel is a tough player on the inside that has the ability to stretch the floor as well.

Noel will be able to play the four or the five for the Buckeyes and give them a productive front-court addition. The transfer portal didn’t work out the last go around with Bradshaw entering the fold, so the Buckeyes went out and added Tilly and Noel.

From the start of his college career, Noel started 26 games as a freshman and averaged 13 points and 8.7 rebounds. Playing in the Big Ten is a jump up in level but Noel is the type of player that can make it happen.

Buckeye Nation should see this as a welcomed addition to the men’s basketball team. Noel is a Lucasville, Ohio native and played his high school ball at Chillicothe.
