Ohio State AD Ross Bjork takes a potentially unsupported stance on Ryan Day after the loss to Michigan

Saturday marked one of the most disappointing days, I’d not the most disappointing day of the Ryan Day tenure at Ohio State.
The fourth straight loss to Michigan for the Buckeyes hurt a lot more this season because they were the heavy, outright favorites to take the game. Ohio State was favored by three scores but ended up scoring just 10 points in the 13-10 loss.
Since the loss, Ohio State’s head coach has received plenty of negative feedback from the loss. However, perhaps the most important person in all of this has a firm stance on where things stand.
“Our full focus right now is on the College Football Playoff and making a strong run,” Ohio State AD Ross Bjork said Sunday, via the Columbus Dispatch. “We have a ton to play for. We have a great team made up of talented players and great young men. Coach Day does a great job leading our program. He's our coach.”
Day has just one win against Michigan and that was in 2019 with a roster that was left over from Urban Meyer. It has been a half-decade since the last time that the Buckeyes can say they beat Michigan. That is just unacceptable in Columbus.
“We’re disappointed (with Saturday’s loss), but he’s our coach,” Bjork said. “I’m focused on supporting our players and our coaches and continuing to get to know our fan base and our donor base and leading through this disappointing time.”
Ohio State has plenty of funds tied up in Day, as well as another really good recruiting class coming up for 2025. Moving off of Day would hurt that class mightily. Day’s record of 66-10 at Ohio State is very good, but with four of the losses coming against Michigan, the L column stands out a bit more.
The Buckeyes have to turn all focus to the College Football Playoff with no chance of capturing a Big Ten Championship next weekend. If the Buckeyes can make some noise in the CFP, it could go a long way for Day.
“There's going to be plenty of time to dissect what happened in the rivalry game the last couple of years. But right now, we have to keep the main thing the main thing, and that's focus on the values of the program, focus on why we lead the young men, focus on the mission and the playoff.”
