Ohio State is 7-1 on the season and ranked No. 2 in the College Football Playoff rankings. The Buckeyes are right where they want to be with everything remaining in front of them.

Next up for the team in Columbus is Purdue, then they will travel to Wrigley Field in Chicago to play Northwestern next week. It is two games that Ohio State will be heavily favored in before hosting Indiana and Michigan to end the regular season.

Head coach Ryan Day pointed out today that he likes where the team is, mainly because of one obvious reason.

"There have been times where I wasn't sure going into November how tested we really were as a team in years past,” Day admitted, via Eleven Warriors. “I know we've been tested this year. That part is good. The fact that we've had two fourth-down stands inside the five-yard line in back-to-back weeks is a great sign for defense, a great sign for our team."

Ohio State got a big stop in the fourth quarter of their win over Penn State near the goal line. The Nittany Lions had it first-and-goal inside of the five-yard line and failed to hit pay dirt. It was the exact toughness and physicality that Ohio State needed to show against the No. 3 ranked Nittany Lions at the time.

The Buckeyes may get a chance to avenge their loss to Oregon earlier in the season in the Big Ten Championship. First, they have to take care of the teams that come first. Not having a letdown game after a big win over Penn State is key.

"The other side of the coin is we need to start playing cleaner football. We need to execute better. We need to be up by a couple of scores in the fourth quarter. That's gonna be the challenge this week. We have to execute better. We have to continue to play physically."

Ohio State has the talent to win a National Championship this season, but they have to be a complete team to do so. The next month is going to tell us everything we need to know about the Buckeyes.
