Tomorrow’s the day the Ohio State Buckeyes will play their first road game in what should be a hostile environment against the Washington Huskies. After a 3-0 start that included a win over the Texas Longhorns and an off week, the No. 1 team is back in action at 3.30 p.m. ET on Saturday. Despite Washington being unranked, Ohio State is just a 7.5-point favorite, and that points to this game being expected to be a close one.

Washington has a very good offense on the shoulders of QB Demond Williams, who can hurt you with his arm or legs. Jonah Coleman can hurt teams at running back anytime the ball gets in his hands. Perhaps the most dangerous of them all is WR Denzel Boston, who could hear his name called early in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Ryan Day reveals that Davison Igbinosun is looking forward to the Denzel Boston matchup

“He always wants to play against the best,” Ohio State head coach Ryan Day said on Thursday. “This is a really good receiver, so a great challenge for him, but we all know he’ll be up for it because he loves competition.”

Igbinosun is a player who decided to come back to Ohio State for his senior season to raise his draft stock. The starting cornerback has fared much better this season through three games with his biggest problem, being penalties. The best way to avoid disaster on the road is to avoid self-inflicted mistakes and the Buckeyes can’t have that. A good game from Igbinosun is key and thawing multiple flags would really hurt Ohio State.

Matt Patricia has the Ohio State defense playing at a high level and it’s carrying over from Jim Knowles’ last season with the Buckeyes. A key part of this defense to continue their current trend is playing well on the road. Key players like Caleb Downs, Sonny Styles, and Arvell Reese are going to be very important against Washington’s offense.

Ryan Day has never lost a game with the Buckeyes coming off a bye week and Ohio State is looking to continue that. The Buckeyes went out to Washington a day earlier than they typically would looking to jumpstart things. A 3:30 kickoff is different for Buckeye fans, so enjoy the non-noon kickoffs while they’re here.
