The Ohio State Buckeyes are back in action this weekend after having their off week last week following a 3-0 start to the season. Ohio State was tested by the Texas Longhorns to open the season but has since run through Grambling State and the Ohio Bobcats. When the Buckeyes are back out on the gridiron, they’ll be across the country on Saturday taking on the Washington Huskies. That matchup just became a little more interesting with a move the Buckeyes made off the field.

Ohio State offers Washington commitment ahead of the two teams playing in Week 5

The Buckeyes are circling back around on a number of recruits in the class of 2026 and the defensive back position has been one that has stood out. Ohio State has just one cornerback committed with four-star Jordan Thomas and they’re looking to change that. The Buckeyes have offered three-star McClymonds (CA) CB Rahsjon Duncan, who has been committed to Washington since July 20. The offer comes just a few days before Duncan will be in attendance for a game played between the Buckeyes and Huskies.

Duncan is a talented cornerback at 6-foot-1, 186 pounds and is rated as the No. 35 cornerback in the country, per 247 Sports Composite. Duncan is listed as the No. 464 player overall in the class and the No. 38 player from the state of California. The hard part about recruiting out west is getting the recruits to want to move all the way across the country. It would be no surprise if that was the biggest hurdle the Buckeyes have to get over to flip Duncan.

It isn’t a matter of if, but more of a matter of when the Buckeyes will add another cornerback. They’re throwing their hat into multiple recruitments late, just like the one of Duncan’s. This 2026 class hasn’t been a normal one for the Buckeyes but they still find themselves with a top-10 group. A couple of finishing touches and it will be on to 2027 for the staff.
