It's taken no time at all for Ohio State freshman wide receiver to become a star. One of the top recruits from the 2024 cycle has immediately blossomed at Ohio State, and his latest big play in Week 2 is a must-watch performance.

Smith, in the first quarter against Western Michigan, was lined up in the to the right of the formation. Quarterback Will Howard quickly looked to Smith, who ran a short curl route against zone coverage. Smith accelerated so fast that he left the safety on the ground in his wake.

Within a second, Smith was off to the races for a 70-yard touchdown. Smith was able to outrun several defenders despite not having the best angle to avoid their pursuit.

Smith's incredible acceleration and fluidity for someone standing 6-foot-3 and 215 puts him on par with recent top NFL draft prospects, let alone collegiate talent.

It's clear Smith is the next great Buckeyes wide receiver prospect. We can't wait to continue tracking what he'll do throughout 2024 and beyond.
