Ohio State’s offense has a chance to be electric once again in 2024 and a freshman will be a part of it.

Jeremiah Smith’s presence is already being felt for the Buckeyes. During spring practice, Smith was the fastest freshman ever to lose their black stripe. It took just four practices for that to happen and for him to “officially” become a Buckeye. Since then, he’s been doing things like the catch below.

Smith has a chance to have one of the more special freshman seasons that a wide receiver has had at Ohio State recently. A better freshman season than Garrett Wilson, Marvin Harrison Jr, and Chris Olave could be on tap for Smith.

You never want to place huge expectations on a freshman but it is no secret that Smith is going to have a role in year No. 1, Ryan Day just about admitted as much.

Emeka Egbuka, Carnell Tate, and Brandon Inniss are all wideouts who will be an important factor. There shouldn’t be a cap on who Smith can be for the offense and what he can give. Not many 6-foot-3, 215-pound wide receivers as developed as Smith come in as freshman.

Snitch is already building some more hype around himself with the tough plays he’s making. The No. 1 ranking in the 2023 class doesn’t matter anymore and he’ll soon be putting up legit numbers at a premier program.
