Ohio State has landed two commitments in the last week and it appears more could be on the way. On3’s Steve Wiltfong has projected Ohio State to land four-star Zion Grady out of Alabama.
Many believe that Grady would end up staying in Alabama and joining the Crimson Tide. Hot off of his official visit to Columbus this past weekend, the Buckeyes look to have turned the tide. Grady had visited Tennessee and Florida State the previous two weekends. Grady has over 30 offers and all of the premier schools from the SEC and Big Ten are recruiting him.
According to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Grady is the No. 66 overall player in the country and the No. 6 edge rusher. At 6-foot-4 and 235 pounds, Grady beats his high school competition currently with speed. He may be a guy who doesn’t okay for a year in high school to catch up physically, but he has the tools to be a high-end Power Five pass rusher.
The No. 1 recruiting class in 2025 to this point has one pass rusher committed and that is four-star Zahir Mathis out of Pennsylvania. Ohio State is the favorite to land four-star Justin Hill at the position as well, who will be committing on July 3. Overall, Ohio State currently has 18 players committed and that number will pass 25 and be closer to 30 when all is said and done.
There is still work to do, and they don’t land every recruit they go after, but Larry Johnson is putting together a pretty good recurring class when it comes to getting after the passer.
