The one position it's felt like the Oklahoma Sooners have not targeted as well as they should have through the transfer portal, has to be the tight end position. And even the guys they were hosting for visits or offering scholarships didn't come off as elite guys.

But, it's not always about elite guys. Sometimes you just simply need bodies, or guys that are going to be depth pieces. And, the Sooners have since added two of those types of players. They added Carson Kent from Kennesaw State last week, and now another player, this one from Pitt State.

Oklahoma Sooners add Pitt State TE Will Huggins

Huggins transferred to Pittsburg State in January from the University of Kansas. His time at Pitt State was marked by a single, successful season where he made significant contributions to the team. In his season with the Gorillas, Huggins earned first-team all-MIAA honors, showcasing his prowess on the field.

He recorded 22 receptions for 395 yards and one touchdown, with a notable performance against Central Missouri where he had three catches for 84 yards. He stands at 6'7" and weighs 254 pounds, which makes him a formidable presence in the tight-end position. Recently, Huggins announced his intention to enter the transfer portal as a graduate transfer with one year of eligibility remaining.

In his tape, it comes off that Huggins is a good run blocker. He has the size and athleticism to be a good player that the Sooners can really use on offense. This is one of Ben Arbuckle's additions to the team, so he must see something.
