The Oklahoma Sooners had a strong 2025 season. They reached the College Football Playoff and developed players for the next step in their careers.

Another measure of success is the number of players who attend the NFL Draft Combine. Last season, the Sooners sent three players. The year before, three; the year prior, seven. This year, Oklahoma is sending 10, the most since 2022, when they sent 11.

Sooners players going to the 2026 NFL Draft Combine

  • R Mason Thomas
  • Owen Heinecke
  • Gracen Halton
  • Deion Burks
  • Jaren Kanak
  • Febechi Nwaiwu
  • Marvin Jones Jr.
  • Robert Spears-Jennings
  • Damonic Williams
  • Kendal Daniels

A few of these players are predicted to be drafted. Thomas is being projected as a late first-round pick or an early second-rounder. Halton is probably next on the list as a possible third-rounder. Jones Jr., Spears-Jennings, Daniels, and Burks are all guys who can get drafted on Day 3 of the 2026 NFL Draft. The others can, too; however, major NFL Draft sites aren’t currently predicting those guys to be drafted. That doesn’t mean they won’t.

The combine is where these guys can go and prove themselves. This is the biggest stage possible for showing what you can do outside of playing an actual game. At the Combine, you get measured in terms of height, weight, arm size, vertical jump, bench press, cone drills, 40-yard dash, and many other things. These will show scouts, coaches, and general managers in attendance what they can do physically and mentally.

Not to mention, these players have meetings with those staff members to get a feel for who they are as people and will also ask football questions, such as repeating a play back to the staff or even drawing a formation. The combine is where draft preparation begins. These guys can make a name for themselves now.
