The Oklahoma Sooners started the season with a massive recruiting win, securing the commitment of five-star offensive tackle Michael Fasusi. Fasusi, the 13th overall player in the 2025 class, was the highest-ranked offensive lineman to ever commit to the Sooners.

Fasusi has remained steadfast in his commitment to the Sooners all season but visited the Texas Longhorns last weekend. He will pay a visit to the Texas A&M Aggies this weekend as they look to knock off Texas in one of the most-anticipated matchups of the season.

Of course, Oklahoma blowing out Alabama on the same day of his visit certainly softened any damage that could have done and might have actually earned the Sooners more momentum to lock him up.

While that may not be encouraging for Oklahoma fans, it still sounds like the Sooners are the team to beat out here.

According to On3's Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons, it's Oklahoma offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh who is keeping the Sooners in it.

"Fasusi still looks like he will be tough to flip from Oklahoma. As long as Bill Bedenaugh is there, the Sooners will be tough to beat. Texas has a lot that appeals to Fasusi. Texas A&M will get their shot this weekend, too. This will go into next week, and the calls will go until Fasusi signs, but Oklahoma is the school that the Longhorns and Aggies are still chasing."

This makes sense. Bedenbaugh is arguably the greatest offensive line developer in college football right now and has turned the Sooners into an NFL pipeline. Of the Sooners' 12 linemen drafted since 2013, eight of them are currently on an active roster. Of the four who aren't in the NFL, Daryl Williams made an All-Pro appearance in 2017 with the Carolina Panthers, while Bobby Evans made 12 starts with the Los Angeles Rams.

All told, 10 of the 12 have made an NFL impact, combining for 368 starts. That is a simply staggering figure, especially for a position as difficult as the offensive line.

It seems like as long as Bedenbaugh is still coaching the trenches for the Sooners, then Fasusi will remain committed to Oklahoma.

Can the Sooners hold on? Other SEC schools will certainly try to poach him right up until he signs. A win at LSU Saturday would certainly help quiet some of the noise and build some more positive momentum for Oklahoma as they finalize their recruiting class.
