It's no secret that Oklahoma's offensive line was a weakness for much of the 2024 season. The unit had to replace every starter from the previous season while also battling injuries and position battles throughout, leading to multiple different starting groups.

Going into 2025, the offensive line is vastly more settled, with returning starters at four of the five positions. Additionally, the Sooners received some much-needed reinforcement with the addition of five-star offensive tackle Michael Fasusi.

Fasusi was named an instant impact starter by On3 for his potential ability to help turn Oklahoma's offensive line around.

"Michael Fasusi has the potential to become a pillar along Oklahoma’s offensive line the second he steps on campus in Norman. The Sooners’ front struggled last season and needs an infusion of talent and consistency. At 6-foot-5, 300 pounds with 35-inch arms, Fasusi has a college-ready build to play in the SEC right away. He’s a violent blocker with tremendous pop in his hands. That skill set allows him to be the type of people mover that Oklahoma needs. Fasusi finished the cycle as the top-ranked offensive tackle in the nation according to the On3 Industry Ranking."

How early can Fasusi see the field? It's an interesting thought experiment. Offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh doesn't often play freshmen, but Fasusi is Oklahoma's highest-ranked offensive line recruit ever. The talent might be too undeniable for very long.

I'm also interested to see which side Fasusi settles in at. I imagine he's envisioned as the long-term blindside protector at left tackle, but Logan Howland earned that job with his performance at the end of last season. Right tackle is wide open for the taking, however, but the Sooners brought in multiple transfers with experience there.

Regardless, the future of the offensive line feels brighter than it has in years thanks to Fasusi's commitment. Hopefully, he can be the building block the Sooners need to turn the offense around.
