Oklahoma Sooners commit lets the entire fan base know he’s not doing what the rumor mill might be saying
Sooners commit and 2026 WR Brayden Allen is locked in.
The Oklahoma Sooners really needed that win against the Alabama Crimson Tide for their College Football Playoff hopes, but also for recruiting. After the win, their recruiting staff immediately went to work, ensuring that every commit, target, and anyone potentially interested saw what occurred in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
One rumor circulating was that 2026 WR commit Brayden Allen from Louisiana wanted to switch from Oklahoma to the LSU Tigers, after the Sooners had already recruited him from Tulane. But he made sure everyone knew on Monday that he wasn’t going anywhere, via Twitter.
2026 four-star WR Brayden Allen is fully committed to Oklahoma
“I just realized that Oklahoma is the place I want to be, and I don’t want to mess that up,” Allen told Rivals on Monday. “Being on my visit to Oklahoma, it made me realize there was nothing like it … and that I am more than happy where I’m at! What is exciting is what they have built over there.
“Oklahoma is a place where I can see myself going and developing in 3-4 years to make it to the league, and I know that by how the coaches plan on using me in the offense and how they feel like I can contribute.”
Oklahoma has four wide receivers in its 2026 class, which is ranked 18th in the country. They have four wide receivers — two four stars and two high-rated three stars, practically four stars. With QB Bowe Bentley also coming in, the Sooners look like they could have a good young core when it’s time for the 2026 class to make its mark.
Allen could have a significant impact with the Sooners in a few years. As of right now, next year’s wide receiver class looks like it could be loaded.
