Fans won't like what Brent Venables had to say regarding starting skill position player who transferred to new SEC rival

There weren't many teams in the SEC that had more players transfer out than the Oklahoma Sooners did. The Arkansas Razorbacks and Mississippi State Bulldogs may be the only two, which says a lot about what happened last year for the Sooners.
They had a terrible offense, one of the worst in the country, with a revolving door at quarterback and a fired offensive coordinator. Oh, and at one point, the Sooners were without their top five receivers due to injuries. And with everything they went through last year because of the bad offense, players were ready to get out of Dodge. And that's understandable.
One of them was tight end Bauer Sharp. he went through a ton, too, being a tight end who didn't win games and didn't have any individual success can be tough. And, on top of that, he had fans around his neck on social media a lot. Some believe he wasn't that good at all, and some just think he wasn't good enough to be at Oklahoma.
But, LSU got him in the transfer portal, and he could be set to be their starting tight end on a team competing for a National Championship. That should tell you all you need to know about Sharp.
Sooners HC Brent Venables talks TE Bauer Sharp
"I know we had some opinions… that he wasn’t a really good player. He's a really good player, everybody will see it. He was one of our best leaders. It is what it is. Not a soapbox, sad to see him go," head coach Brent Venables said at SEC Media Days.
Sharp finished last season with 324 receiving yards on 42 catches, with two receiving touchdowns. That's likely not what he thought he would do. Sure, he had the bad play against LSU, where he threw an interception, but can we all agree that play shouldn't have been called anyway?
With LSU, he will be with a Heisman favorite in QB Garrett Nussmeier, an offensive guru in Brian Kelly, a great offensive unit around him, and a team that really believes they can win it all.
He was not a bad player, but some won't like what Venables had to say. I mean, the Sooners have converted linebacker Jaren Kanak at tight end, anyway.
Jaren Kanak’s hilarious analogy lets Oklahoma Sooners fans know how serious he’s attacking position switch from linebacker to tight end
The Sooners may be happy with the work he’s put in.
