The Oklahoma Sooners have been an NFL pipeline for much of their history, producing some of the best players in the NFL across every position.
Their recent NFL success stories have been impactful players that change the culture of teams, and have played key roles in turning teams' fortunes around.
While they don't record the sheer volume of talent that other teams like Alabama and Georgia have produced in recent years, they make up for it in quality.
In fact, Oklahoma had the most active NFL players among the two Super Bowl teams this season, lapping the rest of the field. They even doubled the number of Super Bowl LIX players from their rival Texas Longhorns.
Here's the list of the Sooners on the two NFL rosters.
Philadelphia Eagles
- OT Lane Johnson
- QB Jalen Hurts
Kansas City Chiefs
- RB Samaje Perine
- OC Creed Humphrey
- WR Hollywood Brown
- OT Wanya Morris
- LS James Winchester
Additionally, the Sooners also have McKade Mettauer on the Chiefs' injured reserve, giving them eight total players on the two rosters.
What makes this even more incredible is that this is the third Super Bowl in a row that the Sooners have led college football. While it helps that the Kansas City Chiefs have been in all three, Oklahoma still had players on the other rosters with players like Trent Williams and Brayden Willis.
This, combined with the success of other players like Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray, CeeDee Lamb, Orlando Brown Jr., and Marvin Mims, proves the quality of the NFL pipeline the Oklahoma Sooners have built throughout their history.
As the Sooners hit the recruiting trail for the 2026 class, this stat should feature heavily throughout their campaigns. They'll add to their list of draftable players this offseason as well, which might further improve this tally in future years.
