Oklahoma Sooners legend thinks head coach Brent Venables will have no issue finding a great DC replacement

The Oklahoma Sooners lost their defensive coordinator Zac Alley to West Virginia, for a job that may be near the same pay, with just a bit more freedom, but the same tag on his name. He didn't want to be under Brent Venables, his father figure as he said, not being allowed to run the show.
Some of that is understandable, besides the way it all went down. But, nonetheless, it's time to move on and find a new defensive coordinator, something the Sooners seemed to have done pretty quickly a month ago or so when they started their search for their new offensive coordinator.
Now they have to look for a new assistant general manager and a defensive coordinator, which is a lot to do while also recruiting and having the transfer portal going on.
But, some outside of the program, with ties to the program, seem to think that Venables will handle it. And, that person knows a thing or two.
“Brent’s going to run his defensive system, regardless of who’s out there calling it, or if he’s calling it. So I do think this is easy to recover from,” legendary coach Bob Stoops said on REF.
The Sooners need a defensive coordinator who is willing to somewhat take a backseat to Venables, one of the best defensive coordinators and defensive minds of this era and generation, no matter what school he has been at. People will want to coach under him.
And the idea is that Brandon Hall, the safeties coach with 23 years of coaching experience, will get a promotion of some sort, and that could be the DC job for all we know. The Sooners are okay, and if Bob Stoops thinks so, there is really no reason to worry.
